At tender ages of 19 and 20 we first met,
It was a special time that I will never
forget.
Those early days together, were short
lived for you and I.
But long enough to leave an impression
as time went on by.
We both went our separate ways, but
thoughts would always remain;
Of the time we spent together whenever
we would go down memory lane.
Many, many years would pass on by.
But how do I get someone out of my mind
like this "guy?"
So you became a "Missing Link" in my
life that I could not erase.
Never did I imagine that a day would
come that we would again embrace.
Then after twenty-five years a letter
appeared addressed to me,
With your name on the envelope for
me to see.
A bit shaken and hesitant to reply,
I gathered my thoughts together and
gave it my best try.
You would be surprised at how often
my thoughts would go back to you.
And you even mentioned, the same was
true for you, too.
And before I knew it, we were again
corresponding with each other.
All the time still amazed that it was
"you" and not some other.
Then the Big Day of our reacquaintance
would finally come,
A nervous day for me that your sweet
smile and roses helped me to overcome.
We shared more wonderful evenings and
played our favorite game,
A sport which is so much fun and one
day we will play the same.
Your "letters" to me brightened up many
a day.
I just hope that I can pay you back in
some special way.
I just wanted you to know that getting
reacquainted with a friend who had a
"VERY SPECIAL PART" in my life,
Will forever have a high ranking in my
entire life.
And we cannot forget what your cute
little dimple does to me.
It's something precious that I would
always like to see.
So, as you go through life, please
remember me always.
You will always have a very special place
in my heart because of our "early days."
For you have moved on again with a new
life to begin.
But now my chain is complete, and I am
so thankful to God for bringing you back
into my life again.
